Citel is pleased to announce EXTender™ 4000, 6000, and IP6000 interoperability with the Avaya IP Office platform. EXTenders allow branch offices and other remote locations with Avaya digital handsets to seamlessly access the features and functionality of the central, corporate office Avaya IP Office PBX.
Overview
Effective February 8, 2007, Citel EXTender 4000, 6000, and IP6000 now support the Avaya IP Office platform. With a compatible Citel EXTender, Avaya IP Office features and applications can be extended to SOHO (small office/home office) and branch office users with Avaya series 6400, 5400, 2400, and 4400 handsets. The single-port EXTender 4000 is designed for SOHO locations. The 8- or 12-port EXTender 6000 and the 12-port EXTender IP6000 are designed for multi-user remote sites.
Product Features
The Citel EXTender 4000, 6000, and IP6000 enable remote locations with seamless access to the features and applications of the Avaya IP Office system, utilizing digital Avaya handsets and existing cabling.
The EXTender 4000 connects single users with DSL or cable modem. It is a cost effective choice for teleworkers with a broadband Internet connection. With the optional second Ethernet port, a PC may also be connected to the EXTender.
EXTender 6000 units connect up to 12 users over T1, E1, ISDN, Frame Relay, and IP networks, and is perfect for small to medium-sized branch offices. This EXTender is also available with an optional FXO port. For easy user locating, 911 calls are routed via the POTS line when the handset’s analog line is selected, and survivability is ensured in the event of WAN failure.
EXTender IP6000 connects up to 12 users over public or private IP networks. Users experience the benefits of an inexpensive solution that offers IP WAN cost efficiencies along with all the robust features of the IP Office system. One FXO port is standard.
Configuration
Deploy one or more Citel EXTender units at each remote location, and a compatible Citel PBXgateway™ termination device at the central PBX location. The PBXgateway connects to a PBX station card on the Avaya IP Office.
