Citel is pleased to announce general availability of its new 4100 Series EXTender™ and PBXgateway™, offering interoperability with Avaya Definity®, Magix®, and IP Office platforms. EXTender and PBXgateway solutions allow small office/home office and other remote locations with Avaya digital handsets to seamlessly access the features and functionality of the corporate office Avaya PBX.
Overview
Effective April 2, 2007, Citel 4100 Series EXTenders and PBXgateways are generally available, supporting several Avaya PBX platforms. With the EXTender and PBXgateway 4100 solution, all the features and applications of the corporate Avaya PBX can be extended to small office/home office (SOHO) users with Avaya Definity or Magix handsets and an IP connection. The EXTender 4100 is a remote location device available in one- or two-port configurations; it is an ideal choice for SOHO locations of up to four people. The PBXgateway 4100 is a two-port termination device deployed at the corporate PBX location; it enables cost-effective deployments of as few as one EXTender 4100.
Product Features
The Citel EXTender 4100 enables remote locations with seamless access to the features and applications of a central Avaya PBX, utilizing digital Avaya handsets and an IP connection. Each unit connects one or two users to the corporate voice network via DSL or cable modem. With the optional second Ethernet port, a PC may also be connected to the EXTender and utilize the same WAN connection.
The single port EXTender is available with an optional FXO, while on the two-port model the FXO is standard. 911 calls may be programmed to automatically route via the POTS line for immediate access to emergency services, and this routing is automatic in the event of WAN failure.
All Citel EXTender units terminate to a compatible Citel PBXgateway at the corporate PBX location. The EXTender 4100 is compatible with all currently available PBXgateways: the companion 4100 unit, and the previously released PBXgateway I and PBXgateway II. The PBXgateway 4100 is a two-port device offering a more tailored solution for enterprises with few SOHO users; it is Citel’s most cost-effective corporate voice network access termination device for deployments of up to four remote workers.
Configuration
Deploy one or more Citel EXTender 4100 units at each remote location, and a Citel PBXgateway termination device within 500 feet of the central PBX location. The PBXgateway connects to a PBX station card on the Avaya PBX.
Note: The PBXgateway II “T” includes an integrated network access device for TI lines (channelized/PRI)
