EXTender™ 7000

Extend enterprise PBX functionality to branch offices and call centers

Key Features

The EXTender&trade 7000 is a 24-port remote client device, designed for branch offices and call centers with 13 or more employees per location. To deploy a Citel EXTender&trade 7000 solution, install one or more units at each remote location, and a compatible Citel PBXgateway&trade at the corporate office. The EXTender&trade 7000 works with most leading PBXs and digital handsets over T1, frame relay, and managed IP networks with a CSU/DSU required to terminate T1, and FR networks.

The EXTender&trade 7000 includes an analog port that ensures survivability in case of a WAN (Wide Area Network) failure, and simplifies access to location-based 911 emergency services.

BY using a CSU/DSU with the EXTender 7000, Enterprises with T1 lines between the sites will benefit from tying in the remote site to the PBX. Multiple channels can be allocated for use in the CSU/DSU.for reserved bandwidth for the 7000. Any remaining channels can be used for data, and assigned in the CSU/DSU. The WAN port on the 7000 connects to the port on the CSU/DSU. If that connection requires a square 34 pin connector, an adapter may be required. Black Box carries such an adapter, their part number FA059.sm_EXTender_7000

Key Benefits

Increased Productivity

Branch office and other remote employees use the same full-featured digital sets as the central location to access PBX/KTS dial tone, receive office-bound calls, and invoke business calling features such as internal dialing, transfer, hold, and conference. Straightforward configuration and management allows IT and telecom staff to focus on employee productivity instead of remote voice system maintenance.

Cost Savings

Telecommunication costs fall by up to 30% just by administering all PBX users from a single location and platform. And with access to internal (four-digit) dialing, there are no toll charges when calling any extension within the enterprise, regardless of physical location. Further, placing regular long-distance and international calls through the corporate voice system keeps all employees on a unified dialing plan

Flexibility

The Citel EXTender&trade 7000 interoperates with several PBX/KTS systems. Most enterprises can leverage their existing PBX or KTS to connect their remote offices to the corporate voice system. The 7000 series is also an easily scalable solution for branch offices. New employees can easily be added by utilizing an available EXTender&trade port or, when capacity is reached, by adding another EXTender&trade.

Ease of Maintenance

Moves, adds and changes at branch locations can be performed from a central location, as can system performance monitoring. Network and feature permissions are controlled at the central location as if all employees were under one roof. The EXTender&trade 7000 can even be remotely managed through a variety of remote access options and user port configurations.
