Company Mission
Citel is The VoIP Migration Company™. We develop the world’s most comprehensive portfolio of network-edge products enabling enterprises to realize the cost and productivity benefits of IP telephony, while leveraging existing telecom and datacom investments.
Deep Telecom History
Founded in 1995 in Nottingham, UK as a developer of computer telephony integration (CTI) applications, the company has grown over the last decade to become a global leader in the design and manufacture of IP telephony migration solutions.
Diverse Product Portfolio
Citel’s core products, including the Portico™ TVA™, the Citel C-4110 SIP/IAX2 IP Phone, the EXTender™ product suite and the EDAC (Expandable Digital to Analog Converter), address the obstacles within the $100 billion VoIP migration opportunity. By leveraging an enterprise’s existing PBX, handset, and wiring infrastructure, while simultaneously distributing converged services and applications that increase productivity and reduce operational expenditure, Citel improves the business case for IP telephony migration. Growth in the VoIP market is being driven by end-users seeking to capture the feature and cost benefits of IP telephony; make the transition faster, more affordable, and easier with Citel’s unique migration solutions.
Key Distribution Partnerships
Citel markets and sell its products through telecom service providers, Internet service providers, distributors, and OEMs. Our strategy is to expand the business in our core markets, the United States and Europe, as well as partner globally with service providers.
Positioned for Growth
In January 2005, the company acquired the assets of MCK Communications, expanding the company’s product portfolio, design and engineering resources, and channel sales capacity. The company completed its Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the London Stock Exchange AIM market in 2005 and then was taken private in 2008 moving its offices from Seattle, Washington to Amherst, New York.
Global Reach
Today, Citel is expanding sales, marketing, and distribution channels worldwide to meet the enterprise demand for cost-effective, managed IP migration solutions.
