CITEL ANNOUNCES NEW SUITE OF FEATURES FOR FLAGSHIP PORTICO� TVA�
Amherst, NY October 13, 2009 � Citel. The VoIP Migration Company� today
announced general availability of Feature Pack 4 (Release 4.00.0) for
its award-winning Portico� Telephone VoIP Adapter (TVA�). Feature Pack
4 introduces several features that will speed installation and
configuration, enhance user productivity and enable more enterprises to
migrate to VoIP using Portico TVA and their existing handsets.
Portico TVA, first introduced in March of 2007, enables enterprises to quickly and affordably connect digital (PBX (News - Alert)),
P phone (Centrex) and analog phones to a hosted or premises-based IP
platform, over existing wiring. With Portico TVA, advanced VoIP
features and applications pass through to the existing handsets or, for
features requiring a larger screen, to a browser window. Enterprises
obtain the cost savings and productivity enhancements of VoIP without
the expense, complexity and disruption of a typical �rip and replace�
migration solution.
Feature Pack 4 (Release 4.00.0) is the most robust and comprehensive
set of features developed for the Portico TVA since its introduction.
It includes:
� New Multiple TVA Configuration Tool. This allows spreadsheet based
management of multi-node installations including copy & paste for
global changes, port swapping, etc.
� SNMP instrumentation of all ports, including FXO.
� Simplified SIP configuration, and context sensitive help.
� New phone display options e.g. installation prompts, international time/date formats.
� Support for new phones, including Ericsson Dialog phones, Avaya 2410 & 5410, Nortel Add-ons e.g. 24 key Add-on to M7324.
� Analog message waiting - FSK/MDMF Line Reversal, and BT (News - Alert) Featureline format interrupted dialtone.
� User editable personal directory.
� Programmable speed-dials when on a call - to invoke IP PBX features, e.g.
o Asterisk park
o "Transfer to"
� Call sharing and pickup on Asterisk using Busy Lamp Fields and Asterisk "Hints".
� SIP interop enhancements - new SIP application servers tested with include:
o MITEL
o Shoretel*
o Tadiran*
o Pingtel/SIPx*
o Nortel (News - Alert) SCS500*
o NEC*
� *Formal interoperability may not yet be complete.
All features in Feature Pack 4 (Release 4.00.0) are backward
compatible, and existing units under warranty can be updated in the
field by contacting Citel Support with their serial number. Software
updates for units out of warranty will be made available for a charge.
Feature Pack 4 will be pre-loaded on all newly manufactured Portico TVA
units.
