Solution Replaces Branch Office Local Circuits for OPEX Saving, Centralized Voice Platform Internet Telephony Conference & Expo West 2006
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--In conjunction with Internet Telephony Conference and Expo, Citel, the VoIP Migration CompanyTM (LSE AIM:CITE.L), today announced a cutting-edge SIP trunking voice solution utilizing the Citel EXTenderTM product suite, enabling distributed enterprises to replace branch office local circuits and connect directly to a centralized PBX, via a SIP trunking service provider. The solution enables enterprises to reduce costs, as well as increase business productivity and continuity, by eliminating existing branch office phone lines and connecting locations with IP telephony.
"Distributed enterprises need a better solution for connecting branch offices and remote workers," said Michael Robinson, CEO of Citel. "By combining our EXTenders with SIP trunking, distributed enterprise customers can literally get more for less. More features, more productivity, and more reliability at lower operating cost than today's PSTN-based solutions."
Citel's SIP trunking voice solution includes Citel's PBXgateway (I or II) at the central PBX site, and Citel EXTender 4100, 6000, IP6000, or 7000 at remote locations. The solution, combined with SIP trunks from a service provider, enables enterprises that conduct operations around the country (or around the world) to reduce their monthly long distance charges by replacing at least one T1 connection within a remote office.
Citel's SIP trunking voice solution can significantly lower an enterprise's operating costs by reducing toll charges and intra-company calling. A single voice network eliminates the need to obtain a PRI circuit in one city and extra POTS or PRI circuits in other cities. A single, unified network also eliminates that need for additional PBX or Key systems in larger branch offices. Also, by porting the headquarters' local numbers to a SIP hoster, it is possible for a company to eliminate extra PRI ports on the headquarter PBX. In addition, the upgrade to T1 lines in each branch office results in higher quality Internet access.
The SIP trunking voice solution from Citel also results in one dialing plan and voicemail system administered by an enterprise's headquarters. Branch offices and headquarters gain the same voice features and functionality, including call logging. Headquarters owns and controls remote worker phone numbers, and a single receptionist utilizes presence applications and remote call coverage. A simultaneous ring can also be used for all field workers.
Citel enables SMBs, large enterprises and service providers to realize the cost and productivity benefits of IP telephony while at the same time leveraging their existing PBX infrastructure. Businesses with single or distributed locations and PBX vendors can now deploy next-generation IP applications and services at their own pace, with little business disruption. Service providers can deploy Hosted IP telephony services quickly, without having to "rip and replace" existing enterprise PBX handsets. Citel is a publicly traded company with corporate headquarters in Seattle, and development offices in Calgary, Alberta (Canada) and Nottingham, England (UK).
