Helps businesses migrate systems to next-generation IP
Seattle, WA - September 22, 2005 - Citel Technologies, a leading global provider of unique IP telephony and converged communications solutions, today announced that it has become a member of the Avaya DeveloperConnection program offered by Avaya Inc. (NYSE: AV), a leading global provider of business communications applications, systems and services.
Citel Technologies, an Innovator member of Avaya DeveloperConnection, develops SIP Portico TVAs that will be compatible with the Avaya Converged Communication Server - a software application that marries Avaya's rich IP telephony capabilities with SIP and presence to enable secure, enterprise-class instant messaging and SIP telephony. Citel's complementary product will enable customers to migrate to the advanced SIP capabilities of the Avaya Converged Communications Server without replacing their digital PBX telephones and associated wiring.
Avaya created DeveloperConnection to promote interoperable communications features and applications that businesses can integrate into their operations to achieve competitive advantage. The use of open standards allows companies to add new capabilities without having to replace their existing network infrastructure.
"Citel has had a long and productive relationship with Avaya's BusinessPartner community through our well known EXTender and call recording products," said Mike Robinson, CEO of Citel Technologies. "Membership in the Avaya DeveloperConnection program with our SIP Portico TVAs further strengthens our relationship with Avaya and our collaboration with those BusinessPartner to bring solutions to customers. By working more closely with Avaya to deliver compliance-tested solutions to the market, we will simplify and accelerate the transition to next-generation IP telephony solutions."
The Avaya DeveloperConnection program currently includes more than 1,000 software and hardware developer companies, integrators, service providers and customers. Members have created hundreds of innovative solutions tested for Avaya compliance, including natural language speech recognition applications, wireless services, specialized computer telephony integration and reporting capabilities, and applications tailored for specific vertical industries.
"Our Avaya developer community has become a catalyst for rapid innovation and the creation of new multivendor applications that help enterprises around the world embed secure, reliable communications capabilities into the fabric of their business-making their people more productive, processes more intelligent and customers more satisfied," said Eric Rossman, Vice President, Developer Relations and Technical Alliances, Avaya.
As a member of the DeveloperConnection program, companies have access to a wide range of support from Avaya, including technical resources and training. Member companies must also meet rigorous Avaya criteria for customer satisfaction, product support, business operations, marketing and sales.
