Initial stocking order of over $275,000 to be delivered in September 2007
September 19, 2007 – Citel, The VoIP Migration Company™ (LSE AIM: CITE.L), today announced that it has signed an agreement with a leading Carrier in the Caribbean and Central America. The agreement commences with an initial stocking order for over 3,000 ports of Portico™ Telephone VoIP Adapters (TVA™) for a total consideration of over $275,000.
The Carrier initially ordered over 1,000 ports of Portico TVA units and has now increased its order to 3,000 ports in total to support the rollout of its hosted IP telephony service. Portico TVA will be offered as part of its hosted IP service to simplify VoIP migration for their large installed base of PBX and Key system enterprise customers.
“I am pleased to report that our strategy of focusing on end users and smaller carriers is generating positive results for the business,” said Mike Robinson, Chief Executive, Citel. “Today’s announcement reflects this momentum, beginning with an initial stocking order from a significant new partner.”
The Carrier’s BroadSoft, Inc. BroadWorks® based enterprise telephony service, combined with Citel’s Portico TVA, enables enterprises of all sizes to obtain the feature and cost-savings benefits of VoIP utilizing their existing business telephones and wiring infrastructure.
The Citel Portico TVA is available with 12 or 24 ports in digital (PBX), P phone (Centrex), and analog compatible configurations. It interoperates with more than 75 handset types including Avaya Definity®, NEC DTERM, Nortel Meridian® and Norstar®, Panasonic DBS, and Toshiba Strata DK.
Citel enables SMBs, large enterprises and service providers to realize the cost and productivity benefits of IP telephony while at the same time leveraging their existing PBX infrastructure. Businesses with single or distributed locations and PBX vendors can now deploy next-generation IP applications and services at their own pace, with little business disruption. Service providers can deploy hosted IP telephony services quickly, without having to rip-and-replace existing enterprise PBX handsets and LAN cabling.
