Citel Announces 4100 Series EXTender and PBXgateway

Enterprise Solution For SOHO Users Now Carried by Panasonic, NEC, and Citel Distributor and Reseller Network

SEATTLE - April 27, 2007 – Citel, The VoIP Migration Company™ (LSE AIM: CITE.L), today announced general availability of its EXTender™ 4100 and PBXgateway™ 4100 through the Citel network of distributors and resellers. Citel also announced Panasonic UK, Panasonic CME, and NEC Infrontia carry the 4100 Series. The 4100 Series is an enterprise voice network solution designed to provide small office and home office (SOHO) workers with transparent access to the features and applications of a central corporate PBX.

The EXTender 4100 is a customer-premises device available with one or two ports. The single-port unit is available with an optional FXO port; the dual-port unit includes a standard FXO. Unlike most IP phones, digital handsets connected to an EXTender 4100 with an FXO port have automatic 911 call routing for easy caller locating, as well as survivability in case of WAN failure.

The two-port PBXgateway 4100 terminates EXTender 4100s at the corporate PBX site. A corporate PBX connects to a PBXgateway 4100, which then connects to a router that moves voice traffic out to the network. At the remote location, another router or DSL modem routes traffic to the EXTender 4100 and then on to a digital handset – usually the same phone the user has at their corporate workstation. This configuration enables affordable extension of the corporate office voice network’s features and applications over IP.

“Enterprises today must be able to efficiently serve the needs of their remote workers to maintain productivity and control costs. We are excited to expand our product line to include a tailored solution for enterprises with extensive PBX investments and remote workers with an IP connection,” said Leigh Fatzinger, vice president of marketing at Citel. “The 4100 series allows businesses to focus on maintaining a single, central PBX platform while capturing the efficiencies of IP voice networks and enabling a seamless connection for their remote workers.”

Reduce Costs, Increase Productivity

The 4100 Series is designed to reduce communication costs and increase productivity. By distributing the features and applications of the corporate PBX, remote workers no longer need multiple voicemail accounts, and long distance charges are eliminated when calling any office within the enterprise, regardless of location. Since remote workers use the same system as corporate office staff, system configuration and administration are greatly simplified.

In addition to Panasonic and NEC, the 4100 Series is interoperable with Avaya Definity and Magix handsets and Definity, Magix, and IP Office PBX platforms. Nortel and Ericsson interoperability will be available soon. The 4100 Series EXTender and PBXgateway are available via Citel’s worldwide network of service providers and distributors including Catalyst Telecom (www.catalysttelecom.com) and Jenne Distributing (www.jenne.com). Panasonic- and NEC-compatible 4100 Series Citel products are available through OEM reseller networks.
